CARE INSTRUCTIONS

JeWells by J uses Semi Precious stones, Gold-plated and Silver-plated jewelry. Gold-plated jewelry is made by covering a base metal, usually silver, with a very thin layer of gold. Since the gold layer is so thin and reactive with silver, it will
 eventually wear away despite your best attempts to preserve it. This wearing away process can take as little as a year depending on whether a barrier was created to separate the silver and gold layers.

Usually, a copper barrier will be used to slow down the reactive process. With the copper barrier, the gold plating will still wear away, but it will take much longer than a year for it to do so. Gold plating is usually used as party or costume jewelry. However, if you are unable to afford gold or gold-
filled jewelry, there are several steps you can take to preserve your gold-plated jewelry:

Make sure you put your jewelry on AFTER all sprays/perfumes.

If you are wearing a ring/bracelet make sure you take them off to wash your hands and put on lotion (make sure it is fully absorbed before putting jewelry back on).

Clean your jewelry with warm, soapy water. Never use jewelry cleaners on plated jewelry – it will tarnish faster.

All prices are based on the time spent making an item as well as the cost of the materials. 


Custom Orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit. To place a custom order please contact us at jewellsbyj@yahoo.com. Once we agree on the specifics of your order, as well as the delivery schedule, an invoice will be emailed to you. When the deposit is received the production process will begin. If there are any delays with your order they will be communicated via email.

PAYMENT 

 
We currently only accept Paypal via the website. However, you do not need to have a Paypal account to use their services; you can select to pay with most credit/debit cards without needing to log in.

SHIPPING

Shipping is a flat rate of $5.90 via USPS Priority Mail, with delivery confirmation. If you purchase an “in stock” item, it will be shipped within 3 business days unless we contact you to state otherwise. Also if you require expedited shipping, please contact us at jewellsbyj@yahoo.com so arrangements can be made to expedite your order. Please allow 3-5 business days for arrival of your order.

 
Insurance is optional for an additional charge. Please contact us if you require this. All orders are sent to the address specified by the customer when the order is placed - we cannot accept any responsibility for parcels that are lost or delayed as result of being incorrectly addressed.

 
If you are a resident of Charlotte, NC USA and wish to pick up your order, please be sure to choose pick up order when completing your order in the PayPal shipping options. Once your order is complete, we will contact you to arrange pick up.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES

CUSTOM ORDERS:
Refunds and Exchanges are not available on custom orders, unless we make a mistake with your order. Please contact us at jewellsbyj@yahoo.com within 5 days of receipt of your order.

INTERNET ORDERS: Returns are only accepted within 5 days of receipt of your order. You must contact us at jewellsbyj@yahoo.com prior to any return, stating the reason for return. You are responsible for all shipping costs; the refund will not include any shipping costs incurred. Refunds and exchanges are only issued after we have received the package and established that the item is in its original, unused condition. We aim to refund within 7 days of receipt of the returned item. Please return items via an insured method, for the value of the item, as JeWells by J will not be responsible for an item that doesn’t reach us and as a result we will not reimburse you or offer you an exchange.
